Rich Hall live in Reading

Frances and I go and see Rich Hall at the Concert Hall as part of Reading Comedy Festival.
We begin the evening at the Monks Retreat, a pub opposite the venue, for a drink and a bite to eat before the start of the show at 8:30pm.
Rich Hall, a Perrier Award winner, is known for his BBC4 shows "Rich Hall's Cattle Drive" and "Rich Hall's Fishing Show". He is also a regular on the BBC2 show "QI", and has made guest appearances on "Have I Got News For You", "8 Out Of 10 Cats" and "Never Mind the Buzzcocks".
The first part of the show is Rich's new stand-up routine, with audience participation, picking on IT and a student dreaming of becoming a management accountant. Rich shares his views on the American presidential election, the global financial crisis and his recent visit to Buckingham Palace.
After the interval Rich returns as his alter ego Otis Lee Crenshaw, a redneck jailbird from Tennessee who has been married seven times all to women named Brenda. Otis blends country music, comedy and audience banter, even incorporating management accounting into one of his songs. Surprisingly, Otis reveals his love of single malt over bourbon.
